A record 85 members and guests attended today’s Club Christmas Luncheon at South Lawn Hotel. Christmas themed ties, woolly jumpers, socks and “seasonal sparkle” were much in evidence.

After a welcome coffee or mulled wine to warm us up on what was a cold day, festivities began with members and guests attempting the Club’s Christmas Quiz. Donations for the hotel staff were presented, to thank them for looking after us so well throughout the year.

We were then  welcomed into the dining room for our Christmas lunch. Conversation and wine flowed freely. And Christmas themed entertainment was provided by Sway Bells, with enthusiastic audience participation.

Shortly after 3.00pm the raffle was drawn and members said their farewells, wished their friends “happy Christmas and all the best for 2026”, and departed in high spirits.
