Lentune Probus Club members met via Zoom on Monday 14th June for our monthly meeting, and we were treated to an outstanding talk by John Ellis, entitled “The Way Ahead”. John reviewed the U.K. motor industry and its importance to the British economy, the changing attitudes and expectations of car buyers and the increasing globalisation of automotive design and production.

Our next meeting on 12th July at South Lawn Hotel, Milford on Sea, will mark the Club’s return to normality after 16 months of lockdown. The meeting will be followed on 13th August by our first social event since lockdown began: our Summer Luncheon at the Lord Bute. Thereafter, we expect to implement our published programme of meetings and social events for the remainder of 2021.

Members should note that the June News Bulletin is now available in the exclusive Members Area of this website. It contains the usual mix of club news, humour, recipes, and articles on topical issues, many contributed by members.

We always welcome new members. Retired businessmen and professionals interested in meeting and enjoying the company of active, like-minded people, living life in retirement to the full, should contact our club secretary for details.
