VISIT TO THE BOSCOMBE DOWN AVIATION COLLECTION
Hangar One, Old Sarum Airfield, Salisbury, Wilts. SP4 6DZ
Boscombe Down Aviation Museum is located at Old Sarum Airfield, not at Boscombe Down Airfield.
Boscombe Down Aviation Collection is both a historic museum and a fun educational experience, with the possibility of getting into aircraft cockpits, hearing recordings of engine noise, seeing how the cockpit controls work and listening to recorded exchanges between pilots and air traffic controllers.
With fast jets such as Harriers, Jaguars, Hawks and a Tornado on display this is a unique experience. A Battle of Britain display and a collection of model aircraft are also in the Hangar.
Car sharing, discounted group entrance tickets an introductory talk and a lunchtime snack are being organised (price to be confirmed).
Payment by bank card, debit or credit card will be taken when you check-in for our monthly meeting on 12th September.
If you are unable to attend this meeting, please send a cheque for the appropriate amount, in favour of Lentune Probus Club, to the organiser Geoff Havers to arrive no later than 12th September.
