Monthly Meeting

Our speaker today is Steve Herra.

Steve is a third generation Cunard seafarer. His last ship was the QE2 where, as a Purser he came into contact with many of the stars featured in his talks. On leaving Cunard he served in the Royal Naval Reserve and more recently conducted tours of Cunard and P&O ships berthed in Southampton.

He has been delivering talks, both live and via Zoom, for a number of years now, to organisations such as U3A, Probus, and the WI.

Today Steve will tell the fascinating story of Coco Chanel, who heavily influenced the fashion and fragrance world.  Who were her lovers?  How many ingredients are there in Chanel No5 perfume?  What was her reply when questioned if she consorted with the Nazis?
