Our speaker today is Paul French

Chris Hobby and Paul French have prepared a series of digitally illustrated historical talks focusing on locations, buildings and characters from the areas around Milford on Sea, Lymington and the New Forest.

Todays talk is about Hurst Castle, standing like a sentinel, commanding the western entrance to the Solent.  You will learn about the necessity for its being built and its role as a deterrent against agression.  You will also learn about its greatest role as a prison to a king and a priest.
