Our speaker today is Nick French.

Nick has recently moved to our area from South Africa where he was very much involved with Probus.  He has offered his services as a speaker and from his extensive and interesting list of talks we have chosen to hear about Christian Barnard.  I'm sure you will all remember that he performed the world's first heart transplant.  However he was far more than a surgeon, and contributed more to medicine beyond his field of cardiac surgery; not to mention his notorious exploits with the opposite sex.
