Philip St Lawrence - The Boston Tea Party
Philip is an historian, writer and speaker, resident in Hampshire, who brings history alive through his illustrated talks on a wide range of subjects. A drama school graduate, he believes passionately that talks should be "performed" to inspire, inform and entertain.
Each of Philip's talks recounts a great moment in history and is intended to be delivered in an inspirational and entertaining way. He is a regular speaker at clubs, festivals, and on cruise ships.
Synopsis
We all remember learning about the Boston Tea Party in school. Generally thought of as the tinder that lit the fire eventually exploding into the American War of Independance. How on earth did such an important catastrophe occur. Philip's carefully researched talk provides the back story. The pressures, Military, Political and Financial on George III and his Government were enormous and the blunders that occurred contributed to the loss of Britain's most valuable and costly colonial possession.
